Nickolas Garson

Nickolas graduated magna cum laude from Florida State University in 2014 with a B.S. in chemical science and a minor in biology. During his undergraduate career, Nickolas was actively involved on campus as a member of the executive board of Florida State University’s Dance Marathon. He also participated in the Health and Education Relief Organization (HERO), with whom he traveled to Guyana on a medical mission trip. He then spent time as an undergraduate researcher for Dr. Shatruk’s lab in the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry where he investigated the influence of reaction parameters on the spin crossover characteristics of iron complexes. After graduating, Nickolas worked as an emergency room medical scribe at Capital Regional Medical Center in Tallahassee as well as a teaching assistant for general chemistry labs at FSU. He chose the Florida State University College of Medicine for their commitment to patient-centered care and strong sense of community amongst its students.
