Oluremi "Remi" Omotayo was born in London and lived there for six years, spending the rest of her childhood in Tallahassee. She first attended the University of Pittsburgh and later transferred to Florida State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in exercise science with a minor in chemistry and biology in 2013. During her undergraduate career, she was involved in the Minority Association of Premedical Students (MAPS), where she served as the recruitment chair. She was also very involved in the USSTRIDE program, which presented her with the opportunity to become a certified medical assistant. This opportunity also allowed her to intern as a medical assistant at Impact Health, an internal medicine practice. Remi was also heavily involved with the college volunteer program and the HELP program at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. Through both programs, she was able to practice talking to and interacting with patients of all ages. In 2012, she also had the great privilege to serve on a medical mission trip to Jamaica through the International Service Learning Program. Through that experience, her passion to serve underserved areas greatly increased. In 2015, Remi completed her master's degree in biomedical science here at Florida State University. She feels honored to be among her talented peers at the College of Medicine, and looks forward to continuing on her journey to become a great physician with a passion to serve others.
