Our Local Area

Located on the Gulf coast of Florida, Sarasota is a mid-sized city with something to offer for everyone. Our temperate winters allow for year-round outdoor adventures. In your free time, you can enjoy the world-renowned white-sand beaches studding the coastline, kayak through otherworldly mangrove tunnels, or canoe down the bay where you’re sure to see a dolphin or a manatee!

Further inland, take in the majestic and untamed wilderness of the area’s state parks, and go wildlife-watching at Myakka, a Florida dry prairie which is the second most biodiverse ecosystem in North America, and home to alligators, otters, bobcats, and much more.

Sarasota also boasts a flourishing arts scene with a vibrant history. The Ringling Museum, Sarasota Art Museum, Sarasota Orchestra, and the Historic Asolo Theater are just a few widely-renowned attractions that are popular among residents and visitors.

Additionally, you can enjoy world-class dining in a diverse variety of cuisines; Sarasota has more Zagat Guide, Distinguished Restaurants of North America, and Trend Dining Awards than any other area in Florida. Between beachfront restaurants, upscale dining, rooftop cocktail bars, distilleries, and microbreweries, there’s no shortage of options to experience.
