The Florida State University College of Medicine Obstetrics/Gynecology Residency at Lee Health System (Cape Coral) participates in the NRMP MATCH.
Requirements:
Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for the Florida State University College of Medicine Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program at Lee Health (Cape Coral).
Minimum Requirements
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
 - Three (3) Letters of Recommendation
 - Official Medical School Transcripts
 - USMLE or COMLEX Scores
 - USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 CK (or COMLEX Level 1 and Level 2-CE) with passing scores.
 - Step 2 CK/COMLEX Level 2-CE scores must be received by the program before the NRMP rank list deadline.
 - Personal Statement
 - Medical Student Performance Evaluation (MSPE) or Dean’s Letter
 - For International Medical Graduates (IMGs)
 - ECFMG certification (must be completed and verified by June for candidates graduating that year).
 - Clinical Experience
 - Minimum of 8 months of U.S. clinical experience is required.
 - Eligibility for Licensure
 - Must be eligible to obtain a medical license in Florida, in accordance with the Department of Health/Medical Quality Assurance Division of the Florida Board of Medicine.
 
Preferred Requirements
Strong Examination Performance
- USMLE Step 1 or Step 2 CK (or COMLEX Level 1 or Level 2-CE) first-attempt pass with a score greater than 220 (COMLEX equivalent score of 500) is preferred.
 - Both Step 1 and Step 2 (or COMLEX Levels 1 and 2) must be passed on the first attempt.
 
Recent Graduation
- Graduation from medical school or enrollment in an accredited residency within the last three years.
 
U.S. Clinical Experience
- Residency or elective rotations in the United States are preferred, especially with demonstrated performance in OB-GYN or related specialties.
