Jay Doucet, M.D.
Program Director, General Surgery Lee Health Gulf Coast
Jay Doucet, MD, is a skilled acute care and general surgeon with a strong commitment to delivering timely, life-saving care. His extensive military service as a flight surgeon and combat surgeon shaped his passion for trauma and general surgery, where he witnessed the profound impact that expert surgical care can have during critical moments.
Dr. Doucet specializes in acute care and trauma surgery, providing care for patients during some of their most vulnerable times. He is dedicated to helping patients recover from serious injuries and finds it deeply rewarding to see them regain their strength and return home. In addition, he offers a broad range of general surgery services, using advanced, effective techniques to treat conditions such as hernias, gallbladder disease, abdominal wall concerns, and intestinal disorders.
Committed to advancing the field of surgery, Dr. Doucet has published extensively in professional journals and medical textbooks and has held leadership roles in multiple surgical societies. He is proud to care for patients in Southwest Florida, where his family lives, and is dedicated to serving a growing community with a need for experienced, compassionate surgical care.
