Lee Health System
Lee Health is one of the largest public health systems in the US, founded in 1916, with more than 2 million patient contacts each year and over 950 primary and specialty care physicians and advanced practitioners across 100+ locations throughout Southwest Florida. We have four acute care hospitals and two specialty hospitals, and the residency program functions primarily from Gulf Coast Medical Center.
The Lee Health system has a total of 1,812 beds across four acute care hospitals and three specialty hospitals.
Gulf Coast Medical Center
Gulf Coast Medical Center is the largest hospital in the Lee Health system with 699 beds. Gulf Coast Medical Center houses a Level II Trauma Center, the Neuroscience Institute, orthopedic, oncology, and cardiology services, and much more. An accredited, comprehensive stroke center features minimally invasive catheter procedures to treat stroke patients. Since 2017, Gulf Coast Medical Center has undergone an extensive expansion, adding three stories and 268 patient beds, including additional ICU beds and an inpatient unit for cancer care.

Lee Health Fort Myers – Anticipated Opening in 2028
Lee Health Fort Myers is a state-of-the-art campus designed to redefine healthcare for our community. Located on a sprawling 53-acre site at the intersection of Colonial and Jones-Walker Boulevards, Lee Health Fort Myers will be a central hub for advanced medical services, modern technology, and complete, compassionate care for patients and families throughout Southwest Florida.
Here’s what you can expect:
- Hospital: Nearly 550,000 square feet with 260 private patient rooms at opening, with capacity to support future growth of up to 96 additional beds
- Medical Office Building: 125,326 square feet of specialized care services
- Ambulatory Surgery Center: 8 operating rooms for outpatient procedures
- Emergency Department: 44 beds with state-of-the-art equipment
- Rehab Gym & Specialty Clinics: Orthopedics, spine, rheumatology, and more, all part of the Lee Health Musculoskeletal Institute
- Child Development Center for Employees: 7,600 square feet allowing up to 114 children
- Parking Garage: In addition to ground-level parking, the campus will feature a parking garage to support capacity
Lee Memorial Hospital
Lee Memorial has been a mainstay in our community for more than 100 years; Lee Memorial Hospital has a rich history of serving Southwest Florida. Founded in 1916, Lee Memorial Hospital is Lee Health’s first and oldest hospital. It has 366 acute care beds and is currently home to the 60-bed Rehabilitation Hospital, an 18-bed skilled nursing unit, and The Florida State University College of Medicine Family Medicine Residency Program at Lee Health.
Special Recognition
LMH is a designated Chest Pain Center, accredited by the Society of Chest Pain Centers (SCPC). The Agency of Health Care Administration designated LMH as a Certified Primary Stroke Center.
Cape Coral Hospital
Cape Coral Hospital, the health care hub for Southwest Florida’s largest city, is home to a wide range of services, including comprehensive women’s services, emergency services, imaging services, acute inpatient services, and a broad range of surgical services, including minimally invasive surgery with robotics. This facility has 303 beds and also features a full-service Healthy Life Center, a modern health and wellness facility with fitness and educational opportunities for the entire family.

HealthPark Medical Center
HealthPark Medical Center is a destination center for cardiac and obstetric care, and it provides complex gastroenterology, general medicine, robotic surgery, gynecology, general surgery, emergency services, and outpatient care, with 336 beds.
The primary location for Lee Health’s cardiac program, HealthPark Medical Center, has received several accolades for its range of high-quality cardiology services, cardiothoracic surgery, and advanced cardiac diagnostics. HealthPark Medical Center also features comprehensive OB/GYN services, including an OB emergency room and state-of-the-art birthing suites. It has one of the busiest obstetric units in Florida and is co-located with Golisano Children’s Hospital, the only children’s hospital in our region.

Golisano Children's Hospital
Golisano Children's Hospital is a standalone, state-of-the-art pediatric facility with 135 beds that delivers vital and lifesaving care for children and their families throughout the region. The hospital offers the only 24/7 ER in Lee County built just for children.
Special Recognition
Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Home to Southwest Florida’s only state-designated Regional Perinatal Intensive Care Center. Named Top Children’s Hospital by The Leapfrog Group four times. The hospital has the area’s only Milk Lab to process and store breast milk for hospitalized babies.
