The mission of PRIDE in Healthcare Organization (Promoting Recognition of Identity, Dignity, & Equality) at FSU COM is to provide support to LGBTQ students and the community in the following areas:

  • Education – increase student and public knowledge of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) healthcare concerns
  • Service – volunteer time to organizations committed to advancing the causes of the LGBTQ+ community
  • Advocacy – promote and campaign for equality in healthcare, employment, and family matters
  • Collaboration – work together with LGBTQ+ groups in other fields of study to further LGBT issues
  • Mentorship – offer support and mentoring to pre-medical students and LGBTQ+ youth
  • Support – provide supporting events with a welcoming and safe environment for all participants
