Health Fair

GIG hosts a health fair for the residents at assisted living facilities in Tallahassee, mainly Westminster Gardens. Students record vital signs, fall risk, and nutrition habits and inform the residents of their findings. There is usually an artistic component of the fair as well where residents and students can socialize and create various art pieces. 

Educational Presentations 

To raise awareness of the specialty and to cover specific geriatric medicine topics, GIG organizes a diverse lineup of guest speakers each semester. Recent presentations have featured geriatricians and an interprofessional hospice team.
