Flow Cytometry Laboratory

The FSU College of Medicine Flow Core offers the Aurora analyzer and Aurora CS sorter from Cytek to cover your flow cytometry needs. Both Auroras offer full spectrum technology and auto fluorescence extraction in SpectroFlo software.   Each is equipped with 5 lasers and 64 detectors. Lasers include 355, 405, 488 561, and 640.  Read side scatter off two different lasers.

The Aurora is equipped with an upgraded violet laser for small particle detection, as well as a 96-well plate loader.  Experiments from the Aurora are transferable as is to the CS.

The Aurora CS can collect up to 6 cell populations into the following tubes: 1.5, 5, or 15 ml. Or sort into 96 or 384 wells.  Nozzle sizes include 70, 85, 100 and 130 uM to cover most cell sorting.

In addition, we also have the ImageStream Mk II Imaging Flow Cytometer from Cytek Amnis. The ISX provides a unique combination of high throughput flow cytometry and images of a microscope.  Together, cell morphology, colocalization, extracellular vehicles, and many other assays are possible.

To obtain the best data, please consult with core staff prior to beginning your experiments.  Training on the Aurora and ISX is provided by core staff.
