Students Interest Group in Neurology (SIGN)

History

In 1998, the American Academy of Neurology (AAN), with the support of the Association of University Professors of Neurology (AUPN) and the American Neurological Association (ANA), inaugurated the Student Interest Group in Neurology (SIGN).

Under the guidance of faculty advisor Charles Ouimet Ph.D., the 123rd medical school chapter of SIGN was established at Florida State's College of Medicine by Michael Worley Jr., Tim Kubal, Tristan Altbuch, Lina Patel and Nishita Patel.

Mission Statement

The mission of SIGN is to foster medical student interest in neurology by providing opportunities for students to participate in clinical, research and service activities in neurology, to increase the student's neurologic knowledge, and to create an interest in the American Academy of Neurology.
