College of Medicine Humanitarian of the Year 2024


Mia McSheffrey is an exceptional student in the IMS Degree Program. In addition to maintaining an impressive grade point average in a high-demanding STEM major, she has completed more than 1,500 Experiential Learning hours, most of which have been through her volunteering. She has served at a number of places including Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare, Ronald McDonald House, the Kearney Center, and Best Buddies. She is involved with several organizations, including SSTRIDE and Who We Play or. She has also participated in the Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program and continued her involvement in research throughout her undergraduate career. She is a hard-working, well-rounded, service-minded student. She was just recently accepted to FSU's College of Medicine. We are proud of her accomplishments and know she will be a great physician someday, applying her devotion to service to being a patient-centered healthcare provider. We are honored to nominate her the College of Medicine Undergraduate Humanitarian of the Year.
