Dr. Joedrecka Brown Speights, Professor and Chair of the Department of Family Medicine and Rural Health at Florida State University College of Medicine, served as Doctor of the Day for the Florida Senate on March 11, 2026, at the invitation of Senator Simon. In this role, she provided medical care and consultation for members of the Senate, staff, and visitors at the Florida Capitol during the legislative session.

The Doctor of the Day program brings volunteer physicians to the Capitol to provide on-site medical care during legislative sessions.
