Dr. Alexander Featured in Florida Family Physician medical magazine
Dr. Christie Alexander, Associate Professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Rural Health, was recently featured in the Florida Academy of Family Physicians' Digital Florida Family Physician medical magazine. Author Joy Batteh-Freiha highlighted Dr. Alexander and her experiences in Marfa, Texas, in an article titled, "The Wrong Store, Led to the Right Job". Dr. Alexander is currently on a one year leave of absence from the FSU College of Medicine while she runs a small, rural practice in Marfa, Texas, located in the far western part of the state near the Mexican border. In the article, she states, "It's truly an opportunity of a lifetime to be able to serve this community while still having a position at the College of Medicine. I am grateful to so many people who helped make it possible."
