Celebrating Dr. Stephen Quintero, Newest Inductee into the Gold Humanism Honor Society
We are excited to announce that Dr. Stephen Quintero has been inducted into the FSU Chapman Chapter of the Gold Humanism Honor Society (GHHS), an honor that reflects his exceptional commitment to compassionate care, mentorship, and professionalism. Dr. Quintero, an Associate Professor in Family Medicine and the Medical Director of the School of Physician Assistant Practice, was selected by the FSU College of Medicine (COM) Class of 2025 in recognition of his unwavering dedication to both his patients and students.
Dr. Quintero is known for consistently demonstrating empathy, respect, and professionalism in his interactions with patients and colleagues. His ability to serve as a role model and mentor, along with his commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment, has earned him the admiration and respect of everyone who works with him. His efforts to foster both academic excellence and humanistic values in medicine have had a profound impact on the FSU COM community.
Dr. Quintero’s selection was one of 21 faculty nominations from across the regional and central campuses, a pool of truly exceptional educators chosen by the FSU COM Class of 2025. The final selections were made by the Class of 2025 GHHS students, who based their decision on criteria such as:
- Demonstrating compassion and empathy in patient care
- Serving as a role model of professional behavior
- Showing respect for all individuals
- Exhibiting effective communication and listening skills
- Respecting the patient’s viewpoint
- Providing exemplary service to others
- Adhering to professional and ethical standards

We also want to congratulate Dr. Jason Salagubang, a faculty member at the Orlando Regional Campus, who was also nominated and recognized by the Class of 2025.
