Celebrating Future Healthcare Leaders from Immokalee

The Isabel Collier Read Medical Campus is proud to announce the 2025 Chapman Foundation Scholarship recipients—three outstanding SSTRIDE students and Immokalee High School graduates who are taking bold steps toward careers in healthcare. 

Each student has been awarded a $1,000 scholarship through the generous support of the Jules B. Chapman M.D. and Annie Lou Chapman Private Foundation, and the commitment of Dr. Robert T. Watson. These awards recognize academic excellence, leadership, and a deep dedication to serving others through medicine.


️Elizabeth Ruiz 

A first-generation college student, Elizabeth will begin her studies at Florida State University this summer, majoring in Nursing. With a 5.01 GPA and a passion for maternal care, she aspires to become a postpartum or labor and delivery nurse. Her leadership in the National Honor Society and service through SSTRIDE and the Guadalupe Center reflect her heart for community and healthcare. 

 

Faustina Andres Francisco 

Faustina graduated with a 5.2 GPA and plans to pursue Nursing at Florida State University, aiming to serve in the ICU or NICU. As Varsity Captain of the tennis team and a dedicated volunteer at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Faustina embodies strength and compassion. Her work with SSTRIDE and the Guadalupe Tutor Corps highlights her commitment to inclusive care. 

 

Cynthia Orozco Lopez 

Cynthia will attend FSU through the NEXT program, majoring in Nursing with dreams of becoming an OB-GYN or labor and delivery nurse. Her volunteer work with Healthcare Network, Immokalee Readers, and Lipman Family Farms showcases her advocacy for women’s health. A Take Stock in Children scholar and Immokalee Foundation member, Cynthia’s journey is one of resilience and purpose. These remarkable students represent the future of medicine in underserved communities. The Isabel Collier Read Medical Campus is honored to support their journey and celebrate their achievements.
