Facilities

Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola is where the majority of our rotations take place. Since opening the area’s first modern hospital in 1915, Ascension Sacred Heart has grown into the regional leader for high-quality, compassionate healthcare in Northwest Florida. Today, our services span throughout the Gulf Coast region. Our main services include Ascension Medical Group Sacred Heart – the region’s largest network of primary care and specialty physicians – a 24-hour Emergency Room and Level I Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center, a Regional Stroke Center, Regional Heart and Vascular Institute and Northwest Florida’s leading Cancer Center, in affiliation with MD Anderson Cancer Network®.

The hub of Ascension Sacred Heart is a 566-bed acute-care facility located in Pensacola, Florida. Our Pensacola campus is also home to The Studer Family Children’s Hospital at Ascension Sacred Heart, Northwest Florida’s only hospital dedicated to the care of infants and children with acute injuries or illnesses. More women choose to have their babies at Ascension Sacred Heart than at any other hospital in Northwest Florida, and as a Regional Perinatal Center and the region’s only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Ascension Sacred Heart specializes in the care of women with high-risk pregnancies, as well as premature and critically ill babies.

A member of Ascension – the nation’s largest Catholic and non-profit health system – Ascension Sacred Heart lives its mission of care to the poor, providing comfort and healing to those in need spiritually, medically or financially. Ascension Sacred Heart spends millions of dollars each year, caring for the poor and uninsured. We also reach out to those in need with community events and our Mission in Motion, which provides free health services for the poor, the uninsured and others who lack access to healthcare.
