What do you like about HMSS?
My favorite part of HMSS is the community. Medicine is an extremely competitive field, but I know that through HMS I'll have the resources and support I need as I embark on this journey. Dr. Speights, Dr. Foster, and all of the HMS scholars have been extremely helpful and encouraging thus far. From personalized academic advising to advice about community service, I've already learned so much from everyone. It's such an amazing opportunity to be a part of a community with such bright and dedicated individuals and I'm excited to become more involved with HMSS throughout my undergraduate career.
Why do you want to go into medicine?
I was introduced to the healthcare setting at a young age when I was hospitalized for a serious illness. In middle school and high school, I became even more exposed to the healthcare field through my involvement in different classes, volunteering, and clubs. Medicine is a life-long commitment to learning plus service and as a future healthcare professional I hope to do my best to serve patients while making a significant difference in their lives.
