What do you like about HMSS?
I consider our HMSS group to be my college family in the sense that it has supported me through the academic, professional, and personal development I have experienced in my time as an undergraduate. " Growing up" over the past four years with the guidance and support of my peers and advisors alike has proven to be an invaluable resource for me as a premedical student. This community of learners is composed of many great individuals, and I have benefited from discovering more about each person's unique contribution to the group in the time spent fostering our relationships.
Why do you want to go into medicine?
The medical field presents me with a unique opportunity to make an impact and give back to children, especially to those in the population with disabilities like autism and other developmental disorders. Through this profession, I aspire to practice the genuine empathy that is demanded of physicians in order to provide the quality of care that makes a difference to parents and children of families that may otherwise struggle with disabilities.
