What do you like about HMSS?

I like that HMSS is a support system that prepares me for Medical School. It's so helpful to be in a community of people with similar goals and dreams, so that you feel more empowered to chase after your own. Also, I love that everyone is so friendly and helpful, and it really provides a forum in which you can be as creative as you want!

Why do you want to go into medicine?

My father is a physician, and I have always admired how rewarding his work was. It amazed me that he was able to make a daily positive impact on people's lives, and have such fun at the same time! From the moment that I expressed interest in medicine, he began to take me with him to his office, and on his rounds, and my interest only grew the more I came to know about it. It was in my junior and senior year, when I was a member of Health Occupation Students of America, that I finally fell in love with the idea of one day becoming a physician. Listening to the speakers, who all had various careers in the field of medicine, captivated and astonished me. I want to go into medicine so I can have a job dedicated to providing the gift of health to those who come to my office. I cannot imagine a more rewarding career.
