What do you like about HMSS?

Through HMSS, I found a community of like-minded individuals who all share a passion for the same goals. The mentorship and guidance I've received from HMSS is unlike any other; this tight-knit community has allowed me to pursue my goals without the tension of not knowing who to speak to. Whether it's registering for classes or looking for research opportunities, there has always been someone willing to help me through it all.

Why do you want to go into medicine?

I want to go into medicine to provide medical care for individuals in my community, especially those in underprivileged conditions. Both my parents being in medicine has given me insight into what challenges there are in this field, but they've also taught me how much compassion and warmth can go a long way. Someday, as I express kindheartedness towards my patients, I'll realize that it's the influence of my parents and the numerous medical professionals I've met along the way, shaping me into the doctor I've always aspired to be.
