What do you like about HMSS?

What stands out to me about HMSS is the welcoming environment it creates for students with similar interests. Being part of this organization has allowed me to connect with others who share my goals, and the friendships and mentorships I’ve gained have been one of the most rewarding aspects of my experience.

Why do you want to go into medicine?

My interest in medicine began after witnessing a family member navigate a condition that required highly specialized care, which was only available far from home. Seeing the time, financial strain, and coordination involved highlighted how inaccessible healthcare can be for many people. This experience inspired me to pursue medicine so I can help expand access to quality care and advocate for patients who face systemic healthcare barriers.
