What do you like about HMSS?

Even though I've just started my undergraduate experience here at Florida State, I've already felt such a strong sense of camaraderie and passion for learning and serving through the Honors Medical Scholars Society. Growing with my peer Medical Scholars affords us opportunities to become more compassionate and informed clinicians in the near future. Moreover, I believe that HMSS strongly encourages its members to identify their distinct interests and to pursue them.

Why do you want to go into medicine?

Although I cherish a plethora of academic interests, I cannot see myself not practicing medicine. The future years of education and training serve as a humble reminder that medicine is not for me; it is for those who are in need of recovery and treatment. From witnessing family members and friends suffer through terrible health ailments, I also see the need for compassionate and comprehensive health care. In the rapidly changing climate of medicine that exists today, I want to have the opportunity to pursue a career that will challenge and engage me to interact with and educate patients. I also intend to explore other dimensions of the healthcare system such as health policy, hospital administration, and more.
