What do you like about HMSS?

I love how supportive my HMSS peers are toward my future goals and aspirations. They inspire me to chase my dreams and become the future doctor I hope to be. The incredible guidance I have already received from Dr. Foster and Dr. Speights has made me much more comfortable toward my career path. I am able to look up to the older scholars for guidance and long-lasting friendships. I enjoy the mentoring I receive from the older scholars and I can't wait to provide that support to the younger generations that come.

Why do you want to go into medicine?

Medicine speaks to me because I want to live my life to help others. Medicine is the field in which my service will benefit the largest amount of people in the most impactful way, health. Through scientific breakthroughs and proper practice, doctors don’t impact one person but rather the entire world. I hope to not only impact my patient's lives but also their family and community around them as well. I believe that everyone was put on this earth for a reason and for whatever passion or career they choose to take, I want to be the one able to get them back on their feet to fulfill their own dreams.
