What do you like about HMSS?

My favorite part of HMSS is the close-knit community of scholars working together and supporting each other on our medical journeys! Everyone is so welcoming and I am so excited to be a part of this group for four amazing years.

Why do you want to go into medicine?

I am interested in medicine because of the profound impact it had on me. I grew up with many allergies, including my severe peanut allergy. Throughout my life, I've had the privilege to meet with so many kind, intelligent and helpful physicians that not only helped me manage my allergy, but even overcome it. In my senior year of high school, thanks to the guidance of the medical professionals in my life, I started oral immunotherapy for peanuts, and it changed my life forever. I will forever remember what these physicians did for me, not only through the treatment of my condition, but by how strong they made me feel. One day, I hope to have such a profound impact on people through medicine.
