What do you like about HMSS?

HMSS as an organization provides students with a strong passion for medicine and helping others, a pathway towards medical school through service. The advisors are fantastic and dedicated to student success, and I personally am so grateful for all their advice and involvement in my journey into medical school. The wide range of service activities are great as well and they genuinely allow students to get involved in not just the Tallahassee community but through other locations as well. The students that are in this organization are not only intelligent and share a similar passion, but they are also very helpful and compassionate and they all truly make HMSS a family. It is great to be able to ask older members about teachers, classes, materials, and course loads; while at the same time it is a great feeling to help the younger members as well. I am beyond ecstatic to continue on the same pathway through medical school with these fantastic people.
 

Why do you want to go into medicine?

As an individual I have always focused my passions upon giving back and helping the people who need assistance the most, and medicine is in fact is the perfect outlet to help a wide variety of people while making a difference in everyday lives. I am drawn to this career due to the fact that being a physician is a complex profession due to the communication, patience, understanding, teamwork, science, and the ability to deal with daily challenges.
