What do you like about HMSS?
Honors Medical Scholars Society has given me all the tools I need to succeed as a pre-med student and grow into the physician I aspire to be. Dr. Foster and Dr. Campbell’s guidance makes balancing classes and activities manageable. My peers in HMSS are like-minded, inspiring individuals that have become close friends and a great network for advice on instructors, books, shadowing, volunteering, etc. This group keeps me motivated and passionate about my professional goals.
Why do you want to go into medicine?
I want to become a physician so I never have to stop learning. People of all kinds are fascinating, and I would love the opportunity to listen to and build relationships with patients who are different than me. I want to dedicate my knowledge and skills to making a difference in other’s lives and hopefully travel internationally to serve those in need of caring doctors and resources. Being a physician would be both incredibly rewarding and challenging on a daily basis, and it is something I would be proud and honored to do.
