What do you like about HMSS?

HMSS has challenged me to set higher standards for myself and gave me the tools to meet those expectations. The journey of applying to medical school was tough, so the network of support I found through HMSS was invaluable. I greatly appreciate that HMSS provides various outlets outside of academics that remind its members to grow as complete individuals instead of only worrying about classes all the time.

Why do you want to go into medicine?

I have a deep interest in learning anything dealing with biology, and the field of medicine seems endlessly fascinating to me. Aiming for a career in medicine seemed  only natural; as a young child I always said that I wanted to be a scientist, and I've always enjoyed working and providing care for other people. 

Kevin entered the Honors Medical Scholars Program in 2008 and is now a member of the FSU College of Medicine Class of 2015. He is at the Pensacola Regional Campus for the 3rd and 4th years of med school.
