Brief
FSU-COM (specifically the FSU-COM Center for Medicine & Public Health) will be hosting the Northwest Florida regional meeting of the Florida Public Health Association on September 16th, 2016. This one-day conference is being co-sponsored by the Florida Association of Community Health Centers, Florida Dept of Health, FSU School of Nursing and FSU Public Health program.
The theme of the conference will be Strengthening Primary Care and Public Health Collaboration for a Healthier Florida.
Description

This meeting focuses on the potential for public health and primary care to work together to improve the health of diverse communities across Florida.  The opening plenary session will be on Joining Forces to Achieve Health Equity, followed by plenary sessions and break-out groups with discussions and best-practice examples of integrating healthcare and public health toward the ultimate goal of optimal and equitable health outcomes for all. Breakout sessions will focus on specific application to maternal-child health, HIV / infectious disease, and chronic disease.
