Serving as a caregiver for a family member or close friend with dementia can be a source of great personal satisfaction and reward. However, caregiving can be stressful, leaving the caregiver prone to emotional ups-and-downs and physical health problems. The ACTS2 Project provides support to caregivers through faith-based, skills-building and services to distressed caregivers of loved ones with dementia and Alzheimer’s.
Dementia Community Workshop
On February 22, 2025, family caregivers from the community gathered at Hopewell AME Church in Havana, Florida, for an empowering Dementia Community Workshop. This community event was designed to provide caregivers with practical guidance, emotional support, and expert insights on caring for loved ones with dementia.
Alzheimer's Project Caregiver Conference
On February 15, 2025, the ACTS2 Caregiver Project attended the Alzheimer’s Project Caregiver Conference, connecting with dedicated caregivers and sharing vital resources on dementia care. This event provided practical strategies, emotional support, and essential training to help caregivers navigate their journey with strength and confidence.

On February 6, 2025, an ACTS2 Dementia Awareness workshop gave family caregivers information about the program’s free skills-training and support services to help them provide optimal care to loved ones with dementia.
