This annual award is voted on by our medical students to a distinguished faculty member of the Orlando Regional Campus who delivers outstanding patient care and is a superior student mentor in clinical teaching and research. Dr. Salvatore Silvestri was a central figure in Orange County’s emergency medicine and public safety who made all emergency medical service practices based on evidence-based protocols and implemented programs that have become national standards, and a man who mentored hundreds of residents and emergency physicians. Dr. Andree is truly the ultimate example of everything Dr. Silvestri embodied and continues to set the path for others as well.
