BLACK HISTORY MONTH CELEBRATION GALA

Black History Gala Night

The night's theme was “Winning On and Off the Field - A Health Odyssey” with Rhodes Scholar, gifted athlete, and philanthropist, Dr. Myron Rolle, as the Keynote Speaker. Dr Rolle attended undergraduate and medical school at FSU and is a product of the FSU COM Fort Pierce Regional Campus. In 2006 Dr Rolle was rated by ESPN as the #1 football recruit in the U.S. In addition to a stellar career as a member of FSU’s football team, he was an outstanding student. He showed that one may achieve success in sports, academics, and in life. Dr. Rolle is an exemplary role model for young people and a first-class representative for Florida State University and its College of Medicine. He is currently a resident in neurosurgery at Massachusetts General Hospital and the Harvard Medical School.

Entertainment for the event was provided by CeCe Teneal and Soul Kamotion. Awards were given in Community Service, Humanitarianism, Education, and a Life Time Service Achievement Award. State Scholarships were also presented to regional Colleges and Universities. It was truly a wonderful evening!
