As the newest fully accredited medical school in the United States, the College of Medicine has a young and rapidly developing alumni relations program. In May, the college graduated its eighth class with a total of 117 graduates. 76 percent of the college’s 567 alumni are in residency training or in fellowship in some of the top programs in Florida and across the country. Alumni - both College of Medicine and PIMS - play an active role at the medical school, helping to teach current medical students, serving on community boards at regional campuses and serving as hosts to fourth-year students traveling for residency interviews. Alumni hosts provide students with a free place to stay as well as offer helpful advice regarding residency training and the prospective medical center and community for which they are interviewing. So far, we have 17 alums signed up, but we need more - become a HOST today!
We have 12 M.D.s from both PIMS and the College of Medicine serving on our brand-new Alumni Board. The first meeting was on April 16, 2011.
