Bioinformatics Resources

The following bioinformatics information aims to provide resources for Hiseq users in dealing with their sequence data:

RCC Account:
In order to access the sequence data, the user must have a valid FSU RCC/HPC account. For account application, please follow this link:  https://acct.rcc.fsu.edu/account/signup.

Demultiplexing:
If demultiplexing is needed, the user should provide an index sheet to Dr. Yanming Yang (yanming.yang@med.fsu.edu) by following the example format (IndexSheetExample.csv).

Note: Index sheet format is strictly enforced by the software. You may leave FCID and Recipe columns blank. The characters not allowed are the space character and the following:
? ( ) [ ] / \ = + < > : ; " ' , * ^ | &

Data Access:
First, login onto medicine node: RCC_ID@medicine.hpc.fsu.edu; then ssh RCC_ID@spear-17 (or 18, 19, 20, 22); go to your data directory

Data Transfer:
FSU RCC preferred approach for data transfer is via Globus (https://rcc.fsu.edu/docs/globus).
For Hiseq data users, please put at the left side,

                                   endpoint fsurcc#med; path /lustre-med/share/Outputs_CASAVA/

Analysis Software:
The following software packages are available for data analysis at COM spear nodes (spear-17, 18, 19, 20, and 22): Samtools, Bipython, Abyss, Bowtie/Bowtie2, BWA, Tophat, Cufflinks, R packages. The software is also available for general access at other RCC nodes https://rcc.fsu.edu/software
