Student Support Coordinators

The Assistant Director is responsible for overseeing all the services and staff that provides support to medical students as well as directing and coordinating all student services events for the College of Medicine Division of Student Affairs. The Assistant Director also maintains communication between the Regional Campus Student Support Coordinator and the central campus.

Year 1 and 2 Student Support Coordinators

During the first two years of medical education, Student Support Coordinators are critical to maintaining the commitment to a student-centered environment at the FSU College of Medicine main campus in Tallahassee. They identify academic, professional, and/or personal support needs to assist with students’ success. Working in collaboration with the Associate Dean of Student Affairs, Assistant Dean of Student Affairs and Assistant Director of Student Services, they assist with academics, advising programs, and workshops/roundtables. Additionally, they serve as the primary liaison for student learning communities

The Student Support Coordinators plan and coordinate special events for the College of Medicine such as Orientation, White Coat Ceremony, Match day and Graduation. The Student Support Coordinators also work very closely with student organizations.

Year 3 and 4 Regional Campus Student Support Coordinator

The Regional Student Support Coordinator works closely with the Division of Student Affairs and assists the Regional Campus Dean by identifying the academic and/or personal/professional support needed by third and fourth year students with the goal of maximizing the success of each student. The Regional Student Support Coordinator serves as the primary liaison for the support of students between the College of Medicine administration, faculty, academic programs and student services. In addition, they are responsible for the maintenance of student records and instructional material in the student learning communities, serve as Assistant Chief Proctor as well as assist with career development, personal counseling and other support services.
