Rachel Cartechine, M.D., has returned to her hometown to continue her career in obstetrics and gynecology after working in private practice in Orlando. She is now practicing at Health First Medical Group in Melbourne, Florida. Posted 4.6.20.

Mary Crocker, M.D., welcomed her first child, Evelyn Daisy Bernice Crocker, in February 2020 with husband Jonny.  Posted 4.6.20.

Ashley Lucke, M.D., was recruited to be an assistant professor of pediatrics at the University of Texas at Austin/Dell Children's Medical Center to help build the Comprehensive Fetal Care Center for parents expecting newborns with multiple complex congenital anomalies. She was also appointed associate program director of the Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship Program at UT Austin. Lucke was selected to the American Academy of Pediatrics Committee on Fetus and Newborns. She practices at UT Austin/Dell Children's Medical Center as a neonatologist.  Posted 8.31.21.

Glivery Mary (Ivey) Gayahan Elvambuena, M.D., welcomed her second child, Augustine Elvambuena, on Nov. 12, 2019. Posted 4.6.20.

Jeremy C. Jones, M.D., is a medical oncologist/hematologist who specializes in treating gastrointestinal malignancies at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville. Posted 4.6.20.

Zita Magloire, M.D., is serving as chair of the AAFP Obstetrics Member Interest Group, a subcommittee member of the Georgia Perinatal Quality Collaborative Maternal and Neonatal Task Force and is chief of staff-elect at Grady General Hospital in Cairo, Georgia.  Posted 2.02.21.

Rachel Bixler, M.D., won two 2018 Best of the Forgotten Coast Awards as she was voted Best General Practice Doctor and Best Family Physician Office by residents of Mexico Beach, Gulf and Franklin counties in Florida. She is a family medicine doctor with Sacred Heart Medical Group. Posted 8.7.19.

David Cangemi, M.D., completed a gastroenterology fellowship at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. He has now returned to practice at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville. Posted 8.7.19.

David Nigen, M.D., completed a sports medicine fellowship at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York. He is now an assistant attending orthopedic surgeon at New York Presbyterian Hospital, and a clinical instruction in orthopedic surgery at Weill Cornell Medical Center in Astoria, New York. Posted 8.7.19.

David Snipelisky, M.D., completed an additional fellowship in advanced heart failure and transplantation at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. He is now a board-certified cardiovascular surgeon with WellStar Medical Group in Marietta, Georgia. Posted 8.7.19.

Brad Stephan, M.D., completed a fellowship with the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery in Chicago. He recently founded Stephan Surgical Arts in Tampa, where he is a cosmetic and general surgeon. Posted 8.7.19.

Obinna O Adigweme, M.D., completed a fellowship in Adult Hip and Knee Reconstruction and is now an assistant professor of clinical sciences at UCF College of Medicine. Posted 4.1.18.

Jennie Brown, M.D., is chief of the family medicine clinic and a primary faculty member with the Family Medicine Residency Program at Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center at Fort Gordon. She is as an assistant professor of family medicine at the Uniformed Services University in Bethesda, Md. Posted 4.1.18.

Amanda G Cooke, M.D., has returned to Florida and is a pediatrician at Arnold Palmer Hospital in Orlando. Posted 4.1.18.

Mary Crocker, M.D., completed a fellowship in pediatric pulmonary training at the University of North Carolina. She is now a Fogarty Global Health Fellow living full time in Peru, working on research related to childhood pneumonia. Posted 8.7.18.

Brett Armstrong, M.D., finished his general surgery residency in June (one day before the birth of his son) and has moved back to Tampa as a general surgeon with BayCare, working at St. Joseph’s Hospital North. Posted 10.1.17.

Sanaa Bhatty, M.D., is the medical director in the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Outpatient Department at Mount Sinai St. Luke’s in New York. She is also an assistant professor of psychiatry at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Posted 10.1.17.

Natalie Ciomek, M.D., is an assistant professor of pathology at Tufts University Medical Center in Boston. She completed the pathology residency program at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York and went on to complete two fellowships in gastrointestinal pathology and hematopathology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Mary (Currie) Crocker, M.D., completed a pediatric pulmonology fellowship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She’s now on a research grant for lung ultrasound research in Peru. She got married in November. Posted 10.1.17.

Vaishali Gajera, M.D., is an anesthesiologist at the University of Miami-Jackson Memorial Hospital. She completed a fellowship in acute pain medicine in 2016. She and her husband welcomed a daughter in June. Posted 10.1.17.

Emily Lagergren, M.D., is in the vascular surgery fellowship program at Emory University. She completed the general surgery residency program at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center this year and served as chief resident. Posted 10.1.17.

Katherine A Rodby, M.D., completed a general surgery residency at the University of Illinois at ChicagoMount Sinai Hospital Medical Center this year and served as administrative chief resident. David Snipelisky, M.D., graduated from the cardiology fellowship program at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He began training at Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School in Boston for an advanced heart-failure and transplantation subspecialty.
