As a community-based medical school, the Florida State University College of Medicine provides third- and fourth-year clinical training at regional medical school campuses around the state through affiliations with local physicians, ambulatory care facilities and hospitals.
At the Regional Medical School Campus - Sarasota, clerkship directors from the Sarasota area direct the students' rotations in: family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, surgery, obstetrics-gynecology, geriatrics, psychiatry and emergency medicine. Additional community physicians serve as clerkship faculty in these and other clinical areas.
John Dudley M.P.H., Class of 2016, served as an expert panelist on syringe exchange programs at the 2015 Smart Justice Summit in Sarasota.

Paula Domino, Class of 2015, has matched early. Paula’s will be doing her urology residency at the University of Florida! In addition to this achievement, Paula was chosen to be inducted into the Gold Humanism Medical Honor Society.
Joshua Greenstein, Class of 2015, was selected to be a member of the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Alpha Omega Alpha honors students for excellence in medical scholarship.
Marielys Figueroa-Sierra, Class of 2016, received a $2,000 Spring 2014 OLLI Scholarship from Florida State’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute.
Third-year medical student and Charles Mathews’ Geriatrics Research Scholar Jesse O’Shea conducted a study in 2012 on access to primary care physicians for new Medicare patients.
