Global Health Research Participant Receives Scholarships

Florida State University College of Nursing student and participant in Dr. Charles Fleischer's Global Health research, Gabrielle Meyer, is the recipient of two scholarships and one grant award. The scholars are the Lillian Hulla Friend of Nursing District 6 Scholarship, and the FSU College of Nursing Scholarship.  The grant award is the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN) Syntegrity Professional Education Grant.

The Lillian Hulla Friend of Nursing District 6 Scholarship is awarded by the Florida Nurses Foundation.  This scholarship was established to promote professional development and the advancement of nursing through education and research. Each year, funds are provided to registered nurses and students for educational expenses.

The College of Nursing Scholarship was created through the generosity of Florida State University College of Nursing donors. It was established to provide scholarships for deserving and academically qualified College of Nursing students.

Creating lifelong learning opportunities for perioperative nurses is crucial to the future of the profession and the patients they care for every day. The purpose of the AORN grant is to empower perioperative nurses in advancing patient and workplace safety through education and research.
