Clinician's Guide to Counseling Older Adult Drivers

Dr. Alice PomidorThe American Geriatrics Society (AGS) extended a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)  to update and publish The Clinician’s Guide to Assessing and Counseling Older Drivers, 4th Edition, as a service to healthcare providers involved in the care of older adults. Healthcare practitioners are at the front line of motor vehicle crash and injury prevention in older adults. The goal of the Clinician's Guide is to aid these practitioners in addressing this public health concern with successful interventions to prevent harm. The Department of Geriatrics Professor Dr. Alice Pomidor chaired the editorial board which looked to incorporate the best evidence-based recommendations from current literature while accounting for many types of care environments.
