Division of Research Summer Research Fellowship Geriatric Projects
The FSU College of Medicine’s Division of Research hosted it’s annual Summer Research Fellowship Symposium November 26th highlighting the medical student research projects funded by the Division’s Summer Research Fellowship. This year, the Department of Geriatrics was represented by two student-faculty projects.
Maheen Islam, Class of 2021, worked with Drs. Terracciano and Mazumder on Personality Changes with Dementia From the Informant Perspective: New Data and Meta-analysis. Maheen presented her project during the symposium's Grand Rounds presentations, which featured four selected Fellowship award winners, and also submitted an article to JAMDA, "Personality Changes With Dementia From the Informant Perspective: New Data and Meta-Analysis" published February 2019.
Brett Eckert, Class of 2021, worked with Dr. Granville on Determining Practice Changes for a Nurse Workforce in Retirement Communities. This project has also been accepted as a poster at the American Geriatrics Society's 2019 Annual Scientific Meeting.
