Hyde named president-elect for SCOLAS

Dr. Yolanda M. Hyde

Dr. Yolany M. Hyde is President‐elect for the Southwest Council of Latin American Studies, an interdisciplinary organization that encourages diverse panels, methods, and interests. They welcome participation by scholars and students interested in Latin America, including studies of immigration, transnationalism, and U.S. Hispanic history, literature and culture.

Dr. Hyde noted that SCOLAS is an academic organization that focuses on research and is continuously examining the literary production of Latin American authors. Dr. Hyde is Assistant Professor in the Department of Behavioral Sciences and Social Medicine, and her PhD is in Hispanic literature.
