Congratulations to Florida Academy of Family Physicians (FAFP) Student Member, Meghan Novotny Lewis on being appointed to the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) 2018 Student Representative to the Tobacco Prevention and Control Committee (TPCC). In her role, Meghan engages in regular communications that aim to contribute to the continued development and success of the comprehensive tobacco and nicotine prevention and control program. "I am looking forward to working with leaders across the country to help develop educational materials to assist patients with tobacco cessation and prevent patients from ever using tobacco products. I hope to use my past experiences as an AAFP "Tar Wars" presenter and a Tobacco Free Florida “Quit Smoking Now” co-facilitator to build upon ideas and methods that patients can relate to and find achievable. It is my hope that we can increase the use of educational materials, cessation discussions, and ultimately help each of our patients successfully quit and avoid tobacco use."
