Kristen Dimas, M.D., is in her second year at the FSU College of Medicine Family Residency Program at Lee Memorial Health System in Fort Myers.  Dr. Dimas has been chosen to be the chief resident for the 2018-19 year.

Joah Aliancy, M.D., completed an ocular pathology research fellowship at the University of Utah immediately after graduation.  He studied artificial lens opacification complications, which afforded him the opportunity to win first place for his poster presentation on that topic from the National Medical Association.  He subsequently was invited to Hawaii for a research award, presented by The Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology.
Dr. Aliancy will soon complete an internship at Aventura Hospital, where he was able to enjoy time with family. He says he feels well prepared for bedside medicine, as compared to his cohort of interns. In the summer he will head to New York City to become the first African American resident in ophthalmology at Columbia University.
