Berni Schor

M.D. Class of 2021

Hometown: Cooper City, Fla.
Undergraduate Degree: University of Florida

Berni graduated cum laude in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in biology and psychology from the University of Florida. At UF, she was actively involved in a variety of organizations, such as Alpha Epsilon Delta Pre-Health Honors Society and Dance Marathon. She especially enjoyed her role as an official student ambassador, leading campus tours for high school students and their families. Berni was also a clinical research assistant in a pediatric neuropsychology lab, which focused on the cognitive and executive functions following pediatric traumatic brain injury. After graduating, she was an AmeriCorps member with City Year -- working in a high-poverty community to support students who were at risk of later dropping out of high school. It was this work that specifically encouraged Berni to pursue a medical career in an underserved community, and drew her to the Florida State University College of Medicine. The mission and values here align with her own, and she is excited to continue to learn more throughout these next several years.
