During his junior year, he received certification as a medical assistant and worked for two years with a local internist and two years in a private-practice dermatology office, where he was able to hone his patient communication skills, gain valuable experience in patient care and advance his knowledge in the treatment and management of various diseases. Joseph chose the FSU College of Medicine because he wholeheartedly believes in its mission of patient-centered care and its commitment to the underserved and rural communities.
