Joyiena R Dominic

PA Class of 2019

Hometown: Ocala, Fla.

Joyiena graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor of Science in sports and exercise science. At UCF, she volunteered at the Human Performance Lab, assisting in research studies. She spent a majority of her undergraduate years shadowing and volunteering at Ocala Regional Medical Center and at private practices in a variety of specialties. Joyiena worked as a nursing assistant at Orlando Regional Medical Center's neuro step-down unit and at Life Care Center of Ocala. Her compassion and love for helping the sick and needy, especially the disadvantaged, led her to co-found the nonprofit Christ Acts Foundation, with a mission to help people in medically underserved areas. She chose Florida State University because of its collaborative atmosphere and community-based approach. She is currently the FSU PA program's representative on the Council on Diversity and Inclusion, and is enthralled to be in the inaugural class of physician assistants at FSU.
