Job Description

Dr. Shepherd is charged with the development and implementation of the gynecology and obstetrics curriculum for third- and fourth-year clerkships.


In addition to serving as a faculty associate at the University of Colorado, Dr. Shepherd taught regularly for federally funded update programs throughout the rural West. She has appeared at over 100 venues in the past 10 years as a nationally recognized speaker on women’s health issues, and has taught internationally for USAID. She also publishes regularly in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Shepherd has devoted a significant portion of her career to the promotion of women in medicine. In the early 1990s, she edited Balance, a nationally circulated publication for women physicians. She then founded and served as course director for a national Balance conference for women physicians throughout the 1990s. Dr. Shepherd is married to Richard Behler, DDS.
