Description:

In the last two decades, there has been tremendous growth in the availability of standardized clinical assessment for home care, long term care and mental health settings in several countries. These point of care data can be used for a variety of person level applications, including need identification, risk management, care planning and outcome measurement. The management applications of these data include performance measurement, quality improvement and case-mix based funding. This presentation will examine future directions in how health status is measured in complex populations as well as the challenges and opportunities posed by emerging big data sets. The implications for clinical practice, health care management and policy will also be considered.
