We seek essays on the following prompt: “Humanism in Medicine—To Err is Human”

In 1,000 words or less, write about a time in your medical career in which a mistake, failure, or challenging obstacle—faced by you or someone else—gave you a different perspective in medicine.

Essays must maintain the confidentiality and integrity of the patient and location of the event. Please use fictitious names and locations in the essay.


Description

• Eligibility: Open to all members of the FSUCOM community.
• Deadline: Submissions must be received by midnight on March 31, 2018.
• Submission instructions: Click here to enter the Humanism in Medicine Essay Contest. Register as an "Author" and click "New Submission." Then choose "Humanism in Medicine" as the "Journal Section" for which you'd like to submit. Upload a digital file of your essay.

 First, second, and third place essays are chosen by a blind panel of judges from FSUCOM GHHS and HEAL.

Winners receive a monetary award and their essays published in HEAL: Humanism Evolving through Arts and Literature!

The awards will be $250, $150, and $100 for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, respectively. All entries will be considered for future publication in HEAL.
