Rural Medical Education Director, Dr. Anthony Speights

Dr. Speights was born and raised on a farm in Marianna, Florida. After graduating from high school, he attended Chipola Community College, the University of Florida, and the University of South Florida where he obtained his Doctor of Medicine in 2001. Upon completion of residency at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, Virginia, Dr. Speights returned to Marianna where he practiced as an OBGYN for four years and also served as a Florida State University College of Medicine Clinical Faculty member. Prior to being named the Director of Rural Medical Education at the FSU College of Medicine, Dr. Speights was a member of the Florida Department of Health in Jackson County where he treated HIV and Sexually Transmitted Diseases. Dr. Speights is married and the father of two daughters.
