Dr. Anthony Speights Named Director for Bridge Program

On Thursday, August 3, 2017, John P. Fogarty, M.D., Dean of the Florida State University College of Medicine, named Dr. Anthony C. Speights as the Director for the Bridge to Clinical Medicine master's program and as clinical faculty advisor for the Honors Medical Scholars (HMS) Program effective immediately.  He continues to serve as the Director of Rural Medical Education.

Dr. Speights joined the FSU College of Medicine in 2014 as Assistant Professor and Director of Rural Medical Education in the Department of Family Medicine and Rural Health. Prior to joining the College of Medicine, he was with the Florida Department of Health in Jackson County as Medical Executive Director and Specialty Care Program Physician where he provided HIV care along with women’s health/family planning services for their clients. Before joining the Department of Health, he was a practicing Obstetrician/Gynecologist at Jackson Hospital in Marianna, Florida, where he served as a staff physician for five years. He also served as Chief of Surgery and as a member of the Medical Executive Committee.
